AEGIS FOOD TESTING Laboratories (AFTL) provides ISO 17025 accredited
independent microbiological and chemical testing services. In addition to supporting
clients in their routine testing programs, AFTL offers Microbiological Research,
Application and Consulting Services.
Founded just five years ago, AFTL might be considered a very young company, but
is built on a collection of outstanding industry veterans. A privately held company, the
active owners have more than 60 years of experience in food processing and supply
chain management. Our senior scientists have more than 50 years of experience in the
commercial laboratory and research industries. Nearly all of our technicians are degreed
in the sciences.
Our research scientists set the standards for industry and are capable of designing and
executing the most challenging studies. Capabilities include, shelf-life and challenge
studies, AOAC Research Method Validations and Test Method Optimization and Field
Assessments. And of course, consulting and regulatory service support is always available
to our clients.
Every client is assigned an Ambassador. These individuals are degreed scientists that have
intimate knowledge of our laboratory operations and quality policies. Their number one
priority is to understand the client’s specific needs, products and business and advocate
within the laboratory to ensure their client’s expectations are met.
This unique blend of diverse individuals is supported by a culture rich in entrepreneurship
and client focus, state-of-the-science laboratories and the latest IT platforms. All are empow-
ered to achieve our goal of providing exceptional technical resources and customer service
and to work with clients in an environment that stresses accuracy, timeliness and partnership.
The founding AEGIS FOOD TESTING Laboratory along with our Research & Application
Center and Corporate Office are located in South Dakota, just a few miles from where our great
state connects with Iowa and Nebraska. Our second location resides in beautiful Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, just 10 minutes from Will Rogers International Airport.
AFTL is dedicated to providing a high level of service to the food industry by utilizing new
technologies and by assisting our clients in making the right choices. We pride ourselves on
our ability to help our clients stay ahead of today’s complex business environment with our
unique approach to “balancing business with science.”
